EMT Pig Detector Pipeline is used to provide confirmation of the movement of pipeline pigs through a pipeline. They are normally positioned at both the pig launching and pig receiving stations and at key points along a pipeline.
Description of pigging equipment
1. Pig Detector Pipeline
The passing ball indicator is mainly used to display the passing time after the pig is sent out and indicate the alarm. In this way, you can check the ball passing situation at any time. Digital display, clear and reliable instructions. In addition, it is equipped with a remote signal. The mechanical ram can be triggered when the pig passes. Touching the micro switch gives off or on signal. The clock on the control base is then stopped. It can also transmit the signal to the upper computer at the same time. Then the mechanical part automatically resets. The gauge section can be manually reset.

2. Electronic passing indicator
The intelligent electronic passing ball indicator produced by us overcomes the false alarms caused by the old passing indicator being easily disturbed by external magnetic force lines. It adopts a double-probe structure, and it can judge by itself to eliminate the interference of external magnetic force lines when working. Therefore, the product has a larger receiving range and a higher response speed. And it has the function of picking up memory and the display mode of sound and light alarm. These keep the alarms accurate when the pig passes through.

3. Electronic positioning receiver
The electronic positioning receiver is mainly used to detect the operation of the pig. At the same time, it can accurately find the jammed position. It has strong shock resistance. And it can resist the interference caused by walking vibration without generating an alarm display. It is small in size and easy to carry. So this is convenient for field and night use.

Precautions for the use of related instruments in the pigging system:
1) How to use the positioning receiver:
Before use, first, check whether the battery is sufficient. The operator first turns on the power switch and observes the voltage indicator. If the pointer is in the 80% area of the table, we can continue to use it. Pointers below 80% cannot be used. The battery should be replaced at this time. So we plug the probe plug into the probe jack on the side of the receiver. The instrument works normally 30 seconds after starting up. At this time, when the probe collides, if the pointer responds, it means that it has entered the working state. Adjust the gain knob according to the buried depth of the pipeline. Clockwise means to increase, and counterclockwise means to decrease.
Usually, we will adjust the gain to 1 to 1.5 divisions. Because the gain is too large, it is easily disturbed by the outside world. When looking for a pig, the gain can be properly adjusted to be larger. Once the probe is close to the pig, there will be regular alarm sounds in the machine. At the same time, the pointer swings regularly. (About once a second, if it is a messy and unequal amplitude swing, it is an interference signal)
2) How to use the indicator:
The passing indicator is mainly used for segmental and fixed-point monitoring of the operation of the pig during long-distance pipeline operations. Place the passing indicator above the pipeline, when the pig passes through the pipeline below it, the instrument will send out a photoacoustic alarm after receiving the signal. Its head shows that if no one is on duty, the alarm signal will be maintained until it is manually cleared. This is the pig “pass” memory function of the pass indicator.

For example, a 10 km pipeline. Before passing the ball, place a passing indicator every 1 km. After the blockage occurs, the operator only needs to check the condition of the passing indicator along the line. Then the approximate location of the jam can be known. If the result of the inspection is that the first and second passing indicators have “passed” alarm display. If the third and fourth sets have no alarm display, it can be determined that the jamming position is within 1 km between the second and third passing indicators. We only need to use the positioning receiver to find it within the range of 1 kilometer. This saves the whole search process. It greatly shortens the distance of manual search. And it saves manpower and time.
Before using the pig detector pipeline, check that the batteries are sufficient. Firstly, plug in the probe and turn on the power switch for 30 seconds before it can work normally. Usually, we will adjust the gain to 1 to 1.5 grids according to the conventional buried depth of the pipeline. Because the passing indicator has the memory function of “passing” the pig. And whether the indicator has a sound and light alarm signal. This is an important basis for correctly judging whether the pig has passed the section. Whether the alarm signal of the indicator is reliable or not has a lot to do with the setting location of the instrument and the adjustment of the gain.
Total stand off

Generally, the indicator is located ahead of the bend in the pipeline where the pig is running at a slower speed. Or it is an open pipe that has not been covered or a place with a shallower buried depth. For the indicator set under the above three conditions, the useful signal received from the transmitter is relatively large due to the short distance between the probe and the pig. Therefore, the gain of the indicator can be properly adjusted to be smaller. In this way, the interference signal can be effectively eliminated, and the reliability of the indicator alarm can be improved. As far as the environment is concerned, the indicator should be set far away from high-voltage lines or in areas without strong interference. (such as electric welding machines, motors with frequent power on and off, etc.). The gain adjustment should be as small as possible.
Because when the gain is too large, the indicator is susceptible to interference and false alarms occur. When working on a long-distance pipeline, the location of the indicator should be selected along the line before sending the pig. It is best to leave a special person on duty for each indicator. It is necessary to make everyone involved in the work familiar with the indicator in advance. They need to know how to distinguish useful signals from interfering signals. Every worker should know when the pig is dispatched and how fast the pig is running. The on-duty personnel should know the approximate time when the pig passes through this section. This allows for more focused observation of the working status of the indicator.
3)The positioning operation of the pig:
When the probe is perpendicular to the central axis of the pipeline, the maximum value of the two signals can be received at two points before and after the pig. (Different buried depths and different distances between the two maxima). During the positioning operation, the probe can be moved while adjusting the gain knob. This allows the hands to swing to about 80% of the dial when the signal is strongest. Then the hand probe looks for another maximum value to the front or rear of this maximum value position. After measuring the approximate positions of the two maxima, they then search for the position of the minimum in the middle of the two maximum positions. Turn up the gain knob while looking for it.
Until the gain is adjusted to a large value, the signal is also very small, or there is no indicator on the hands. If the probe moves forward or backward a little from this point, you can obviously see the regular swing of the gauge pointer. So far, below the point where the hands have no indication is the stuck position of the pig. (Note: When looking for the two maximum and minimum values, try to keep the distance between the probe and the ground constant)
Maintenance of Pig Detector Pipeline:

All pressure vessels have been accepted by hydrostatic test before leaving the site or arriving at the site. The staff must maintain and maintain the container in time afterward to avoid undue consequences.
1. Firstly, after the hydraulic pressure test, the medium water or other media in the container needs to be discharged through the drain valve.
2. And then, open the quick-opening blind plate of the container, and clean up the remaining water droplets or other media residues inside the container.
3. At last, after cleaning the impurities, it is necessary to carry out an anti-rust treatment on the inside of the container. It is also necessary to lubricate the sealing ring and the translational blind plate.
All containers that arrive at the site need to be rust-proofed and maintained as soon as the pressure is over. In order to avoid the rust phenomenon. This will cause unnecessary trouble on site.
