Overview
Pig Passage Indicator is a mechanically triggered explosion-proof digital display ball indicator. It is usually installed on the ball pipe. And it can detect whether the pig passes. The product has a built-in real-time clock. In this way, the exact date and time of the last pig passing and the total number of ball passes can be recorded.
Working principle
The end of the extension sleeve is provided with a striker which can be triggered in both directions. It passes through the connecting pipe of DN50 and probes into the interior of the pipe near the pipe wall. When the pig passes, it will move the striker. It transmits the action to the instrument button through the connecting rod in the sealing shaft sleeve. Then it triggers the operation of the display instrument.
The display instrument is a real-time time display and recording system. Trigger the action generated by the striker to trigger the instrument to work and realize parameter recording. The operation button can also trigger the operation of the instrument. In this way, parameter reading and battery tests can be realized.
Appearance of instrument
The instrument consists of the main body and a display instrument, which are connected by knurled nuts.
There are two indicators on the instrument panel. Hit is the impact indicator light, indicating the main body action. T & R indicator is the test and reset indicator. It is used to indicate button action.
Working mode
- Pig passing trigger
After the pig passes and triggers, the number of ball passing is increased by 1. The upper row shows the number of passes and the cumulative timing value. The next line shows the current time. Automatic shutdown after 2 hours
- Button trigger
At any time, press the button on the side of the instrument to trigger. The upper line shows the exact date of the last pig pass. For example, 06/02/15 is February 15, 2006. The next line shows the passing time. For example, 13:35:42 is 13:35:42. Display the battery test results after a time delay. After giving the prompt in Chinese and English, it shuts down automatically. (when the battery is insufficient after the trigger is triggered, the counting is completed and the passing time is recorded. It will automatically shut down immediately to save energy);

① After the pig passes and triggers, the number of ball passing is increased by 1. Automatically shut down after 2 hours of timing. The upper row shows the number of passes and the cumulative timing value. The next line shows the current time.
② At any time, press the button on the side of the instrument to trigger. The upper line shows the exact date of the last pig pass. For example, 08/04/16 is April 16, 2008. The next line shows the passing time. For example, 11:40:46 means 11:40:46. After a time delay, the display will display the battery test results. It shuts down automatically after giving Chinese and English prompts. (when the battery is insufficient, after the pig passes the trigger device, the product will automatically shut down immediately after counting and recording the passing time. This is to save energy); - Installation method: ANSI 600 RF flange connection above the pipe (standard configuration);
- Installation requirements: the distance between the upper surface of the installation flange on the pipe and the inner wall of the pipe is 2mm in the selection. (the installation dimension of ball indicator manufactured according to the user’s requirements shall be determined by the user).

Installation method
Before installing the Pig Passage Indicator, a flange meeting the installation method and requirements of the instrument shall be installed on the pipeline in advance. (flange specification, grade, mounting hole distribution, etc. shall comply with ANSI B16.5 or customized standards). Select a gasket with a thickness of less than 4mm and place it between the two flanges. (RJ sealing surface shall be selected according to the standard requirements). The action direction of the striker of the instrument is facing the direction of the pipeline. (that is, the notch is aligned with the pipeline direction). Then the operator inserts the extension sleeve into the pipe and fastens it with bolts.
How to use the display instrument:
The display instrument is connected with the main body through knurled nuts. When the battery needs to be replaced, the knurled nut should be opened. After connecting and moving the display instrument to the site, open the back cover of the instrument. Then the operator removes the battery compartment and replaces the battery. After replacing the battery, the instrument should be in the power-on state. (the display instrument is in the forced startup state when it is separated from the main body). If it is not turned on, it is because the battery compartment is tight. And the positive pole of a battery does not touch the contact point.
The display instrument has only one operation button, which can read the last pass time. And it can check the battery condition of the instrument. And show the last pass time. When it shows that the battery is insufficient, we must quickly replace the battery. When the display battery is OK, it indicates that the power supply is sufficient to complete parameter recording. The battery can not be replaced at this time. The real-time clock of the instrument is not adjustable. Its time error does not exceed 2 minutes/year.
Remote transmission function and usage
An explosion-proof digital display ball indicator can be attached to a remote transmission module for remote control or display. The output signal is an on/off switching value. (DC3 ~ 24V / 2A electronic switch, 2a is the maximum current allowed by the electronic switch). The control circuit of the output signal is provided by the internal 6V power supply. When the display instrument is working, the electronic switch is in the state. The operator presses the button on the side of the instrument. After a few seconds, the remote transmission module will be reset and closed when the display part is automatically closed.
When the output electronic switch is turned on for a long time, the load resistance should be greater than 30 ohms. Or make its working current less than 1a
Maintenance
The upper part of the flange of the instrument can be disassembled under pressure. But the mechanical parts in this part are not easy to be damaged. We advise users not to disassemble.
The O-rings in the following parts of the flange are vulnerable parts for sealing. If the user overpressures, the service life will be reduced. Therefore, in case of leakage, it is recommended to return to the manufacturer for maintenance and replacement.
