Urethane Cleaning Pig

With the rapid development of the pipeline transportation industry. As a piece of necessary equipment for the construction, operation, and protection of the pipeline system, pigging equipment is also constantly improved and improved. In this field, people have studied and applied two basic categories of soft pigs and mechanical pigs. Some soft pigs, whether spherical or cylindrical, adopt the wear-resistant method of adding fiber. Soft pigs also include foam pigs and polyurethane solid pigs. Urethane Cleaning Pig is a kind of polyurethane solid pig.

However, the pigging effect is not prominent, and it is easy to be damaged. There are many kinds of mechanical pigs, such as steel brush type, leather cup type, turbine type, and jet type. Among them, the latter two are hard to scale removal. The steel brush type is to remove the scale with medium hardness. Of course, it can also remove the soft scale. In terms of removing soft dirt and sundries, leather bowl type is the most commonly used.

Whether it is the leather bowl type or the steel brush type, the leather bowls used are dish types. Even the cup used in the pig for removing hard dirt is also a dish type, and the same cup plays a supporting and sealing role at the same time. Although this dish-shaped cup has a good passing capacity, its pigging effect is not obvious. In particular, it is common for the pig to jam in the pipeline. The method of unblocking is to pressurize and continue to push forward. Sometimes it can’t be pushed out even within the allowable pressure range of the pipeline, which is very easy to cause danger. Or the pig can be taken out from the blocked pipe break, resulting in greater economic losses.

Present Situation：

At present, the Urethane Cleaning Pig in use is equipped with a front pressing plate, cup, sleeve, and cup at the front end of the steel framework. Fasten it by the front pressing plate and the pressing plate on the framework. A leather cup, a pressing sleeve, a leather cup, and a rear pressing plate are installed at the rear end of the steel framework. Then fasten it by the rear pressing plate and the pressing plate on the frame. The transmitter is installed on the outside of the rear pressing plate, and the leather cup adopts a dish type.

The cup pig gets rid of the usual dish shape in the planning idea and adopts the straight plate shape, that is, the disc shape. The front end of the steel framework is successively equipped with a front pressing plate, a straight support cup, a pressing sleeve, a wire brush, a pressing sleeve, and a straight seal cup. When removing soft dirt, such as wax in crude oil pipelines, wire brushes can be used. Instead, a combination of a pressure sleeve and a straight seal cup is used to form a standard straight plate type mechanical pig. Of course, the pigging effect will be better when using a wire brush. And in order to meet the needs of long-distance pigging, the cups and direct seal cups can also be increased to multiple correspondingly and separated by a pressure sleeve.

Pigging scheme of Urethane Cleaning Pig:

1. A scientific and reasonable pigging cycle shall be formulated for pipeline pigging. For pipelines that have been pigged for the first time or have not been pigged for a long time. A pigging scheme shall be formulated before pigging.
2. For crude oil pipelines with serious wax deposition, the operating temperature and throughput of the pipeline should be appropriately increased before pigging. Pigging section by section starts from the terminal end of the pipeline.
3. Control the reasonable running speed of the pig in the pipeline according to the different transmission media of the pipeline. Operators should also do an excellent job in tracking the pig.
4. Before sending the pig, check the pig passing indicators of this station and the next station. When the pig runs in the pipeline, the operating parameters shall be kept stable. Analyze the operation of the pig in time, and take corresponding measures for abnormal conditions. Without special circumstances, it is not suitable to stop transmission during pig operation. When carrying out pig receiving and sending operations, the operator should not operate directly against the blind plate. When taking out the pig from the pig receiver and removing the dirty oil, dirt, and residual liquid in the receiver, the wind direction should be considered.
