Description
The Urethane Sphere is made of corrosion-resistant neoprene. There are two kinds of hollow balls and solid balls. Pigging balls with DN>100mm are hollow balls. Solid balls can be used when the pipe diameter is less than 100mm. The wall thickness of the hollow ball is one-tenth of the inner diameter of the air pipe. The hollow ball is equipped with an air nozzle. The hollow ball is filled with water for use. In winter, the ball should be filled with an aqueous solution of antifreeze (such as glycol). This is to prevent freezing.
When the Urethane Sphere runs in the pipeline, it is required to have a certain degree of sealing. This, therefore, requires the outer diameter of the ball to be greater than the inner diameter of the gas delivery tube. The hollow pigging ball needs to be filled with water before use. After water injection, the diameter of the ball should be 5%-8% more than the inner diameter of the pipe. There are three types of water injectors for you to choose from: ordinary water injectors, manual booster pump water injectors, and electric booster pump water injectors.

The difference between the outer diameter of the ball and the inner diameter of the tube is called interference. Its interference is 2% of the inner diameter of the tube when the ball is not filled with water. When filling with water, the interference is 3%-5%. This enables the ball to cling to the pipe wall without air and liquid leakage. The main purpose of the pigging ball is to remove the fluid in the pipe and separate the medium. But it is less effective at removing lumpy objects. It cannot carry detection instruments in a direction, nor can it be used as a tow tool for them.
Advantage:

Shortcoming:
It is difficult to remove wax and rust from the pipe. And it is also difficult to install test instruments on the sphere.
Urethane Sphere water injection method
① Unscrew the ball nozzle plug with a screwdriver.
②Insert the hollow needle of the water injection device along the guide hole of the ball nozzle. Then forcefully pierce the rubber core.
③Close the exhaust valve. Open the water inlet valve. Measure the initial outer diameter of the ball.
④Exhaust every 3-5 minutes. (Exhaust method: close the exhaust valve. Open the water inlet valve and repeat the operation many times.) Then inject water. Until the ball diameter reaches the required ball diameter.
⑤Close the water inlet valve and draw out the hollow needle. Screw on a little grease on the plug diagram. Tighten.
Product instructions
1. The room temperature should be -15°C- 40°C. The relative humidity should not exceed 70%.
2. Avoid sun, rain, and surface pollution. It is forbidden to be close to heat sources, acids, alkalis, oils, and other objects.
3. Under the above conditions, the validity period is one year.
Demand background:
Fluid transportation pipelines in the petrochemical industry mainly transport oil, gas, water, or their mixed fluids. Then through the periodic pigging ball operation. In this way, the sundries, fluid accumulation, and dirt accumulation in the pipeline are removed. Therefore, it can improve the efficiency of pipeline transportation and reduce friction loss. At the same time, it reduces the corrosion of the inner wall of the pipeline and prolongs the service life of the pipeline.

Pipeline
In recent years, the rapid development and expansion of offshore oil fields have resulted in the construction of a large number of submarine oil, gas, water, and mixed pipelines. Subsea pipeline management is one of the key tasks of offshore oilfield management. It is not only related to the normal production of offshore oil fields but also related to the protection of the marine environment, the safety of personal and property, etc. It is precise because of the importance of subsea pipeline management. Therefore, as an indispensable means of sea pipe management and maintenance, the sea pipe ball is placed in an extremely important position by the enterprise. At present, the structures of ball receivers in offshore oilfields are basically the same.
But it has certain disadvantages. At the ball collecting end, the pigging ball is often pressed tightly against the outlet line of the ball collector by the fluid. This can block the fluid communication channels. Moreover, failure to deal with it in time may cause the pressure of the sea pipeline to rise, threatening the safety of the sea pipeline. If a foam pigging ball is used, the continuously rising front-to-back pressure differential will crush the foam pigging ball. Its debris will enter the heat exchanger and separator of the receiving platform with the fluid, which will cause the heat exchanger to be blocked, the flow rate will decrease, and the heat exchange capacity will decrease. Therefore, Urethane Sphere is required to regularly clean oil and gas pipelines.
